Description

The Watermelon Frosé is a sweet, refreshing frozen rosé cocktail that blends juicy watermelon with chilled rosé wine to create a vibrant, slushy treat perfect for warm days. This easy-to-make drink combines simple summer ingredients for a naturally sweet and flavorful experience, ideal for parties, relaxing afternoons, or any sunny occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (750 ml) dry rosé wine
  • 4 cups fresh watermelon chunks, seeded
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ice cubes (as needed for freezing and blending)

Instructions

  1. Prepare and Freeze the Rosé: Pour the dry rosé wine into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight to create frozen rosé cubes that ensure a perfect icy texture without diluting the cocktail.
  2. Blend the Fresh Watermelon: Cut the watermelon into chunks, remove seeds if necessary, and blend until smooth. For a chunkier texture, pulse briefly to retain some pulp.
  3. Mix Watermelon and Frozen Rosé: Combine the blended watermelon, frozen rosé cubes, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup in a blender. Blend on high until smooth and slushy, scraping down the sides as needed.
  4. Adjust Sweetness and Serve: Taste the Watermelon Frosé and add more simple syrup or lemon juice if needed to balance sweetness and acidity. Pour into chilled glasses and garnish as desired.

Notes

  • Choose a high-quality dry rosé with fruity notes for the best flavor balance and to avoid an overly sweet drink.
  • Freeze the rosé cubes fully — at least 6 hours or overnight — for optimal icy texture.
  • Use ripe, sweet watermelon to reduce the need for additional sweeteners.
  • If making a large batch, blend in smaller portions to maintain smooth and even consistency.
  • Serve immediately for maximum frostiness and refreshment.
