Ingredients

Pork Potstickers

  • Pork potstickers (frozen or fresh) – 12 pieces
  • Oil for frying – 1 tablespoon
  • Water for steaming – 1/4 cup

Noodles

  • Rice noodles – 8 ounces

Cabbage Slaw

  • Green cabbage (thinly sliced) – 1 cup
  • Purple cabbage (thinly sliced) – 1 cup
  • Carrots (shredded) – 1/2 cup
  • Rice vinegar – 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil – 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon

Flavorings & Garnishes

  • Soy sauce – 2 tablespoons, plus extra for drizzling
  • Green onions (sliced) – 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic (minced) – 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh ginger (minced) – 1 teaspoon
  • Toasted sesame seeds – 1 tablespoon
  • Lime wedges (optional) – for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the Potstickers: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Pan-fry the pork potstickers until the bottoms are golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water to the pan, cover, and steam for 5-6 minutes until fully cooked and tender inside.
  2. Prepare the Noodles: While potstickers cook, soak or boil the rice noodles according to package instructions until soft but still springy. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking; set aside.
  3. Make the Cabbage Slaw: Thinly slice green and purple cabbage and shred carrots. Toss them with rice vinegar, sesame oil, sugar, and salt. Let the slaw marinate for at least 10 minutes to blend flavors.
  4. Assemble Your Bowl: Place noodles at the base of each bowl. Arrange the crispy pork potstickers on top and add a generous scoop of cabbage slaw.
  5. Drizzle and Garnish: Sprinkle sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the bowl. Drizzle lightly with soy sauce and add a squeeze of lime if desired. Serve immediately to enjoy the contrast of warm potstickers and noodles with cool slaw.

Notes

  • Do not overcook rice noodles to avoid mushiness; rinse with cold water after cooking.
  • Pat potstickers dry before cooking for crispier texture.
  • Allow cabbage slaw to sit at least 10 minutes for optimal flavor melding.
  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for better aroma and depth.
  • Toast sesame seeds lightly before sprinkling to enhance nuttiness.
