Ingredients
Scale
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 4 oz (115g) high-quality dark chocolate
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
- 3/4 cup (95g) all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup (25g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add-ins
- 3/4 cup (100g) shelled pistachios, roughly chopped
- 6 Ferrero Rocher chocolates, chopped into chunks
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Chop the Ferrero Rocher chocolates and roughly chop the pistachios—set both aside for layering and mixing later.
- Melt Butter and Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl over simmering water, gently melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate together, stirring frequently until smooth and glossy. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly so it doesn’t cook the eggs in the next step.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Whisk the sugar into the warm chocolate mixture until combined. Then beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract for extra aroma.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold this into the wet chocolate mixture using a spatula, mixing just until no streaks remain — don’t overmix to keep the fudgy texture intact.
- Add Nuts and Chocolates: Gently fold in the chopped pistachios and half of the chopped Ferrero Rocher pieces. Pour the batter into your prepared pan, spreading evenly. Sprinkle the remaining chopped chocolates and a few pistachios on top for extra crunch and visual appeal.
- Bake and Cool: Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Be careful not to overbake. Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan to set before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Quality matters: Use good-quality chocolate and fresh nuts for the best flavor and texture.
- Don’t overmix: Fold ingredients gently to keep your brownies dense and fudgy, not cakey.
- Watch baking time: Start checking at 25 minutes to avoid drying out the brownies.
- Chill for clean cuts: Refrigerate brownies before slicing to get perfect squares without crumbling.
- Use parchment paper: It makes lifting brownies from the pan hassle-free and keeps edges neat.
